I’ve moved!

I’ve decided that Paleo is a lifestyle that goes hand in hand with the other activities I do. So I’ve broadened my horizons a bit and moved to a new tumblr at http://calipidder.tumblr.com/. I’ll refollow people over there and leave this one to the archives.

YES. Awesome Run. FINALLY.

I know I’ve mentioned a few times that I’ve been struggling with energy on my runs since switching to paleo about a month ago. Over the past few days that’s changed a lot. I don’t know if my body has finally adjusted to burning something other than the garbage carbs I was feeding it before, or what. All I know is that this week I’ve had to talk myself into *stopping* when out on a run to prevent overdoing it. I love when I’m running so well that I want to go forever.

I’m off to the mountains this weekend to fish, bag a few peaks, take the tundra on a spin through some fun 4WD country, and hopefully get in some good photos on the side. I love summer weekends!

Never send my husband to the store

I asked for some rutabagas and sweet potatoes. He brought home beets.

When I told him they were beets he said “root vegetables, schmoot vegetables”

So, I’m currently roasting beets.

At least he stayed in the realm of paleo. :)

I’m going to have some frozen yogurt.

I just enjoyed a delicious paleo lunch of grilled chicken, red onion, yellow bell pepper, and a big side of watermelon.

But it’s that time of the month and I’m bloated and tired. I’m going to have a small amount of frozen yogurt and enjoy the hell out of it. So there.

I grabbed a container of their Lemon Dill Sauerkraut at whole foods the other day and just opened it up. And I wolfed down about half of it. It is so freaking good.

I travel to Germany a lot for work and I’ve learned to love my various pickled vegetables (I never liked pickled stuff before). I’ll definitely be trying out more of their stuff! The Nutra Kraut looks really interesting…

I have to rave about my lunch salad. Fresh herb greens and arugula. Tuna. An amazing tomato. Sunflower seeds. Walnuts. Cilantro. Dried cherries. A tiny bit of feta (the only dairy I’m eating - anything else is a HUGE trigger food). Drizzled in a peach-infused vinegar and olive oil.
How can anyone *not* like this?

Climbing morning routine

I go to the climbing gym a few times a week, and I hate eating breakfast really early. I usually eat a piece of fruit or a mini Lara Bar before hitting the gym, and then try to have something protein heavy after. Today I’m working from home so I  got to come home and cook up some scrambled eggs with oyster mushrooms, onion, and garlic. I usually don’t eat this well in the morning - it’s really nice and I probably won’t be starving by lunch like I usually am.

Protein for dinner

All I’ve eaten today is fruit and vegetables and guacamole. So dinner is a grilled chicken breast, 2 pork ribs, and a hard boiled egg.

Guys, a note - sometimes, telling a lady she looks fit & in shape is a better compliment than being told she’s pretty. She’ll thank you
Katie, a climbing friend of mine.
